Pastor Garner Smith was ordained to the gospel ministry in October 1959 by the Dotsonville Baptist Church. He has pastored churches in Tennessee and Kentucky. He started out as a Southern Baptist pastor. After pastoring a Southern Baptist church for nine years he became aware of the false doctrine and liberalism taught and practiced by the convention in general and felt he must withdraw from the convention in 1967, thus becoming an Independent, Landmark, Sovereign Grace, Missionary Baptist.
